We are based in Monticello and cover about 40 miles out from town for land clearing and dirt work. North of us the ground is Red Hills country, rolling clay hills of pine, hardwood and quail plantations. South of us the land flattens into sandy pine flatwoods and palmetto toward the Big Bend coast. We travel into Tallahassee and Leon County, up to Thomasville, and across the state line into South Georgia.
We also work in Wacissa, Lloyd, Lamont, Aucilla, Waukeenah, Drifton, Ashville, Capps, Miccosukee, Chaires, Lee, Havana, Boston, Pavo, Coolidge, Ochlocknee, Whigham, Meigs, and the farm and timber country between them. Monticello is home ground; the working area runs about 40 miles out in every direction, west to Tallahassee, south toward Perry and Crawfordville, east to Madison, and north across the state line to Thomasville, Cairo and Quitman.
